Deborah Carr-Davidson

Deborah is a keen dressage rider owning four horses; Rhapsody, Valhalla, Serenade and Bolero.

A friend encouraged her to apply to become a Star Rider. Deborah looks forward to sharing her training experiences with fellow riders as she and her horses progress throughout the training bursary.

Deborah has been riding since she was seven and owned her own horse at the age of seventeen. She has had experience at competitions, most recently competing at Northallerton Equestrian Centre in November last year and being placed fourth in the advanced medium class.

This training bursary will provide Deborah with more focus and a little pressure to work even harder to improve her horses during the year.

Bonnie Fishburn

• Age: 27

• Location: Shropshire

• Discipline: Eventing

Bonnie enjoys eventing and loves the variety and thrill of cross country. She currently owns three horses, her eventer; San Francisco II who is an eleven year old Dutch warmblood and then a three and four year old.

Bonnie applied to become a Star Rider for the chance to train, she has rarely had the opportunity to have lessons and she hopes that this training bursary will improve her riding skills. She hopes that in turn her lessons will help her achieve greater things at events.

She has been riding nearly everday since she was fourteen and owned her first horse when she was eighteen. Her first win was in 1996 in Wales at Rhiwiau Riding Centre where Bonnie won a show jumping class.

Bonnie is currently preparing to start the eventing season in April and is really excited about booking some training lessons.

Claire Marston

• Age: 29

• Location: West Midlands

• Discipline: Dressage

Claire has spent her teenage years show jumping and eventing and has recently tested the water with dressage. At present she has a dressage horse called Renkum Raphael (Rafi) that she bought as a yearling six years ago. Then there is Penfold who she bred and events at novice level and lastly a ginger girl yearling by Showmaker called Spice who Claire bought from a friend.

Claire's aims are to use her training bursary to learn from many trainers and to try to achieve a higher level in dressage. She wants to experience what her dressage horse, Rafi can do and what different movements look and feel like.

Claire has qualified at elementary level for the British Dressage championships in April, so hopes to put her training to good use there.
