Jubilee Cleveland Bay Relay To London! Can You Help?

The Cleveland Bay Horse Society (CBHS) is considering organising a relay ride for pure and part-bred Cleveland Bays to London to celebrate the Diamond Jubilee of HM the Queen, who is also the Patron of the CBHS, and also to raise awareness about the breed’s critically endangered position.

The Cleveland Bay has had Royal connections for many years with the breed being traditionally used to pull Her Majesty’s Royal carriage at ceremonial events such as weddings, state occasions and the Royal Ascot race meeting.

The Society would love to hear from anyone who owns a pure or part-bred Cleveland Bay who would be interested in taking part in the relay, or anyone who would be willing to act as a regional organiser.

Ideally we would like to have either regional rides on the same day and would love to get some horse-loving celebrities on board too, for each stage. With high profile faces such as Sir Alex Ferguson, Martin Clunes and Niall Quinn all having equine interests, we are aiming high!

Sponsorship would also be a huge bonus and so if you or your company could help in any way or for further information on getting involved, please contact Sue Cutts (01425) 653580 or Norma Wilson 07944 998475.
